Sirena + Chelo = SIRELO

Sirelo Entertainment was founded by Chelo and Sirena Mercado, a husband and wife team with over 15 years of experience in the entertainment / music industry. Chelo and Sirena met in College in 1996 and have been partying and making memories ever since! They realized by producing their own amazing wedding, that planning unique events was their true calling. That fateful day was the catapult for their company Sirelo Entertainment.
Along side the entertainment the couple also own and operate the Grassroots Community Space, an arts/entrepreneur incubator and event space. (grassrootscommunityspace.com)

Chelo’s first impressions in the artistic world started in the South Florida Rave scene in the early to mid nineties. Influenced by the electro-aggressive sounds, he incorporated light sticks to a new unique style of dance. Some twenty years later that style of dance has come to be known as flow-arts of which Chelo has been a part of ever since. Chelo has become a great percussionist who, along with Sirena, leads what they lovingly call their “Drum Family” a group of percussionists that rock their beats at various events. Most recently the couple are known for their ELEV^TE Parties which are held all around the NY/NJ Tri-State area. Some of their home-town annual drum events include: Bike JC’s Ward Tour, The Jersey City Pride Festival, The Caribbean Parade and The All About Downtown Festival Parade. Included in their entertainment services have been many private celebrations including Drum and Fire Flow Performances.

Sirena was born in Valparaiso, Chile to a musical family and later became an explosion of creative energy. She is a singer, songwriter, producer, painter, dancer, percussionist and a Fire Performer who feels most comfortable on a stage and in the spot light.

There is no doubt that these two have a lot of fun together. Sirelo as their friends have lovingly come to call them, are found either throwing events, or supporting their community and friends at theirs. If you are in the Downtown Jersey City area and you hear the beat of drums, most likely it is their Drum Family bringing thunder to a happy audience.
